Welcome to

Track Your Song Holiday edition!

Here’s a little breakdown to explain what your day will look like during Track Your Song.

Station 1
Meet with the Arranger

The arranger will spend time going over the song you’re tracking and creating charts for the session musicians to follow along with during station 2. In this process, the Arranger can help you get a better idea of what you want the finished product to sound like. It is important to make sure you come prepared with this vision in mind.

For this part of the session you will need to bring: a lyric sheet, if capable, a song chart, and any demos you have recorded of the song you’ll be tracking.

Station 2
Track instrumentals with the band

For this part of the process, you are not required to play any instruments. If you would like to play a certain one on your track, you may do so, but we will provide you with a full band that is capable of adapting to whatever style you’d like. These musicians are called Session Musicians and they are classically trained and make people's songs come to life for a living. During this part of the session, you will spend most of the hour listening to what they create and helping to guide them towards what you envision for your song.

Station 3
Tracking Vocals

Next you will track the vocals for your song! This part is simple and straightforward. You get in the booth and go to work! The most important part about this process is nailing your main vocal part down and then adding in any harmony work if possible/necessary.

Station 4
Mixing w/ an Engineer

The last step in this process is sitting down with an engineer to mix your track. For this, you will hone in the sound of your song and make sure everything is layered just right.

And there you have it! Your song is done and ready to be released all in 4 hours!

Q+A

Q: What instrumentalists will be available on Holiday TYS day?

  • Pianist + strings player

Q: Will my song be capable of streaming on all platforms?

  • Absolutely! You will receive your song as a .wav file. This type of file method is compatible with all streaming platforms.

Q: What happens if I am late to my session?

  • Because this day is very time sensitive, any late clients will lose time in their first station with the arranger. This station is key to creating a successful song, so please be sure to arrive early just in case!

Q: How much time do I have at each station?

  • At each station, you are given one hour to work at the song. We cannot allow any over time to go into the stations as we have to stay on schedule to accommodate all participants fairly. The Engineer in each station will keep watch of time for you so that things can be wrapped up smoothly and timely.

Q: Is it necessary to attend my mix?

  • While it’s not necessary to attend, it is recommended for the outcome to be to your liking.

Q: Are mix revisions available prior to the session?

  • If you attend your track mixing session, you will not receive a revision. If you choose to not attend the mixing process, we will allow one mix revision

Q: What do I need to bring?

  • Lyric sheet, demo of the song (if you have one!) and yourself!!

Q: Can I bring multiple vocalists to the session?

  • If you are not singing on the track, you may bring a vocalist to do it for you.

Q: Can I bring my friends/family?

  • We don’t recommend bringing anyone to accompany you as it.

Q: What will I be leaving with at the end of the session?

  • Your song! A fully tracked and mixed song that is complete and ready to be shown to the world!
