Day 1: Home Studio Setup and Basics of Recording

• Setting up and optimizing your home studio space: Learn practical techniques to utilize an average room for recording, including strategies to mitigate flutter echo and other typical bedroom acoustic issues.

• Essential equipment overview: Understand the components needed for a functional home studio, including computers, audio interfaces, microphones, and mic preamps. Gain insights into different types of microphones and their applications.

• Introduction to recording techniques: Receive a light overview of compression and EQ. Learn about setting up a DAW for a recording session, importing files, and setting recording levels effectively.

Day 2: Practical Recording Sessions and Demo Prep

• Hands-on recording sessions: Dive into a 5-hour "Lab" session where you'll have the opportunity to apply Day 1's learnings in real-time recording scenarios. Work with vocalists to capture diverse styles and genres, gaining invaluable experience in mic placement, signal flow, and communication with artists.

• Demo preparation: Allocate the final 2 hours of the day to "prepping your demo." Receive guidance on quick mix and mastering techniques, including the use of limiters, to polish your recordings for presentation. Gain insights into creating compelling demos that showcase your talent and vision to collaborators and industry professionals.
